Bling Art Limited ("we", "us", "our") is a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 08499411). We sell press-on nails and related products through our website at blingart.co.uk. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect about you, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. The personal data we collect

  • Order data: your name, billing and delivery address, email, phone number (optional), and the items you ordered. We need this to process and fulfil your order.
  • Payment data: handled directly by our payment processors (Shopify Payments, PayPal, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay). We do not see or store your full card number.
  • Account data (if you create an account): your email address, password (encrypted), and saved addresses.
  • Marketing data (if you opt in): your email address and/or phone number for our newsletter and WhatsApp updates.
  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring site, and cookie identifiers. We collect this through cookies and similar technologies (see section 6).
  • Customer service data: messages you send us by email, Instagram DM, WhatsApp, or Facebook Messenger, including any photos you choose to share.

3. How we use your data and our lawful basis

  • To fulfil your order — lawful basis: contract.
  • To handle returns, refunds, and customer service — lawful basis: contract and legitimate interests.
  • To send transactional emails (order confirmation, dispatch, delivery) — lawful basis: contract.
  • To send marketing emails or WhatsApp messages — only if you have opted in. Lawful basis: consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To run targeted ads on Meta (Facebook, Instagram), Google, Pinterest and TikTok — only with your cookie consent. Lawful basis: consent.
  • To improve our site, fight fraud, and meet legal duties — lawful basis: legitimate interests and legal obligation.

4. Who we share your data with

  • Shopify Inc. — hosts the store. Privacy policy: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy
  • Royal Mail and other carriers — to deliver your order.
  • Payment processors — Shopify Payments, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay.
  • Email and messaging tools — MailerLite (email), ManyChat (Instagram/Facebook DMs), WhatsApp Business (where you opt in).
  • Analytics and ads — Google (Analytics, Ads, Merchant Center), Meta (Pixel for Facebook and Instagram), Pinterest, TikTok. Only with your cookie consent.
  • Reviews platform — Reviews.io, if you choose to leave a review.
  • Authorities — only when legally required (e.g. HMRC, law enforcement on a valid request).

We do not sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

Some of our service providers (e.g. Shopify, Google, Meta) are based outside the UK. Where data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on UK-approved transfer mechanisms such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies for three purposes:

  • Strictly necessary — make the cart and checkout work. These cannot be turned off.
  • Analytics — help us understand how the site is used (Google Analytics).
  • Marketing — let us show relevant ads (Meta Pixel, Google Ads, Pinterest, TikTok).

You can choose which categories to allow through our cookie banner on first visit, or change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

7. How long we keep your data

  • Order and tax records: 6 years (HMRC requirement).
  • Customer account: until you ask us to delete it.
  • Marketing list: until you unsubscribe.
  • Customer service messages: 24 months.
  • Web analytics: anonymised after 14 months.

8. Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Ask us to delete your data (subject to legal retention rules above).
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing at any time.

10. Children

Bling Art is not aimed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you think a child has provided us with their data, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be flagged on our homepage.
