Quick answer: Press-on nails are generally halal in their ingredients — they're made of ABS plastic and cosmetic-grade cyanoacrylate glue with no animal derivatives. However, because they create a waterproof barrier over the natural nail, they prevent water reaching the nail during wudu (ablution), which the majority of Islamic scholars say makes wudu invalid. Most UK Muslim wearers remove press-ons before prayer or only wear them during menstruation when wudu isn't required. Press-on nail ingredients and halal status Plastic (ABS) — halal Bling Art uses virgin ABS plastic. ABS is petroleum-derived, contains no animal products, and is considered halal. Adhesive...

Quick answer: Most press-on brands use a 10-point size scale (0–9). Bling Art sets go two steps further — 24 nails across 12 sizes (0–9 plus half sizes 5.5 and 6.5), two of every size — so the awkward in-between nail beds are covered too. To find your size: measure across the widest part of each natural nail in millimetres, then match to the chart below. The Bling Art press-on nail size scale Sizes run from 0, the largest (14mm across the cuticle), down to 9, the smallest (6.7mm). Most brands stop at the ten whole numbers. Bling Art adds...

Quick answer: Yes — you can swim with press-on nails. They're made of waterproof plastic with waterproof adhesive. The risks are: hot water (above 40°C) weakens the glue, chlorine slightly discolours bright/white nails after repeated swims, and sea salt + sand eventually breaks down the adhesive bond. With normal pool, sea, or shower use, a well-applied Bling Art set lasts up to 7 days regardless of swimming. Will my press-on nails fall off in the pool? No — not from a normal swim. The plastic is waterproof and the glue is waterproof. The bond stays strong unless: You're in a...

Quick answer: Most UK schools don't allow press-on nails during school hours — they typically fall under "jewellery, accessories, and beauty enhancements" prohibited under standard UK uniform policies. Sixth form colleges (Years 12–13) are usually more permissive. Some primary and secondary schools allow short, natural-coloured press-ons under specific circumstances. Always check the school uniform policy. The standard UK school rule Most UK state schools (primary and secondary, Years R–11) prohibit: Coloured nail polish False nails (including press-ons, acrylics, gels) Nail art Long natural nails (beyond the fingertip) The rationale is safety (sharp tips), uniformity (a focus on learning over appearance),...

Quick answer: The best glue for press-on nails in the UK is a cosmetic-grade liquid cyanoacrylate nail glue like the one Bling Art offers at checkout — designed specifically for press-on adhesion, a stronger hold, easy soak-off removal. For shorter wear (5–7 days) or reusable nails, glue tabs are better. Bling Art sets do not include glue — add ours at checkout, or use any pharmacy nail glue or tabs. Don't use super glue or household glue — they bond too aggressively and can damage your natural nail. Liquid nail glue vs glue tabs Liquid nail glue (best for long...
