The number-one reason press-on nails fail is wrong sizing. Too small and the natural nail edge shows; too large and the tip lifts within hours. Here’s the 2026 founder’s guide to nailing the fit on the first try.
I’m Sophia Aziz, Bling Art founder. Every retail set we sell includes 24 nails across 12 sizes (XS–XXL) precisely so you can find the perfect size for every finger. Here’s how to use them.
The 3-minute sizing method
- Lay all 24 nails out before applying any glue. Arrange in size order, smallest to largest.
- Hold each tip against your natural nail, one finger at a time. The press-on should cover edge-to-edge with about 0.5mm margin.
- If a tip is too big, file the sides down. Use the included mini file. Don’t pick the next size down — it’ll be too short across.
- If a tip is too small, you’re done with that size. Pick the next size up. Filing won’t add width.
- Set aside your 10 chosen tips before applying glue. Mark them on a piece of paper if needed. Most people use 3–4 different sizes across the 10 fingers.

Shape-by-shape sizing tips
- Oval & Squoval — most forgiving shapes. Slight sizing errors don’t show. Easiest for first-timers.
- Almond — sizing matters because the curve highlights asymmetry. Choose accurately.
- Coffin/Ballerina — sizing is critical at the tip. Too small reads as stiletto.
- Stiletto — most exact sizing required. The sharp point exaggerates any error.

What if my nail size is between two press-on sizes?
Always size up, then file down. You can make a slightly too-large tip fit. You can’t make a too-small tip bigger.
How many sizes are in a Bling Art set?
12 sizes across 24 nails (two of each size). XS through XXL. Most UK shoppers find a perfect fit on 8 fingers and need to file 2 fingers.
Why does my press-on nail lift on the sides?
Usually wrong sizing — the tip is too small for the natural nail width. Size up, file down. Sometimes it’s skin oil under the tip — always wipe with rubbing alcohol before applying glue.
Can I share my press-on set with a friend?
Possible if hand sizes match closely. Most sets at £2 each (Bling Art 5-pack) are cheaper than the time spent figuring this out — just order an extra set.
